Ghost Cover Up!

I always believed in the supernatural and was ready to listen to anyone's story, they were exciting and interesting in a scary way.

Never thinking I would be witness to an event, I put all those stories out of my mind. But never say never!

My event happened in 1970, in January a couple of weeks before I had my first child. We had just moved into a two family house our friends purchased from an estate. It was an older house and of course, creeky. I wasn't scared but anxious, we removed some of her belongings to make room for our new things.

I decided to lay on the bed for a rest, my husband was watching TV three rooms away. I drifted off to sleep, suddenly I felt the blanket move over my body, thinking it was Bill, I opened my eyes. There was a elderly woman covering me up very gently, her image was so clear, not spirit like. I was so startled, I ran into the living room and asked Bill if he was in the bedroom covering me up, I just couldn't believe what I saw, of course his answer was no.

The event happened so quickly, just a flash, but I can picture it clearly as if it was yesterday.

We found out the woman's bedroom was set up like ours and her name was Helen, just like mine. Seeing is believing!

Wow, that is interseting. She obviously cared enough to cover you up so that is nice. I wouldn't fear her too much. She must feel like she is watching over guests in her old home. Thank you for sharing.

What a sweet story. Seems like you had somebodies mother/grandmother looking out for you! Did you ever see her again?

Dear Helen Burkhardt,

What an enjoyable ghost story. I can relate to you, as I have experienced more positive entities at most so-called haunted houses or places that I have resided in, visited or toured then negative ones. Perhaps, I am a bit idealistic, but I do so want to believe that there are more positive, good paranormal experiences including ghosts and spirits than there are negative ones, especially demons. I think many times human beings embellish their stories so that ghosts sound like they are more demon than they are a trapped dead, angry and fearful earthbound human. I am not saying there are not demons or that evil does not exist in some form or another. Though, I do think many times it is given more energy than it deserves, and the focus may also add to the dark problems at hand. I am also of the idealistic thought that good does outdo and outnumbers evil. Maybe we just need to focus our intention of unconditional love on the good and feed less fear to the dark. It would be idealistically lovely and unselfish to free the earthbound dead humans though whether they are good or evil. In my opinion, they need to all be released to go back to unconditional love. I live for the day when unconditional love freely rules the world.--Abby

I would say its more like movies not churches that teach us to be afraid of ghosts

See not all hauntings have to have an evil or malicious outcome to them. So many people want to believe that all ghost are evil or are demons. That is just what organized churches teach to keep people frightened and in line with their beliefs. Thanks for sharing your story with us.

Peace, Love, and Luck be with you.
