Somewhere I read that things happen every time around us, is just that we don't see them because we are extremely absorbed in the outside world, guess once you "see", then you are more pron to notice things... Once you open yourself to the possibility of the paranormal, yes, more paranormal things will happen to you. Find a logical explanation for things when you can. But, sometimes the "logical explanation" makes less sense than the paranormal one.
Sometimes, when we believe, we can fall into a trap of thinking everything is a ghost. I don't think that will happen to you though.
Your story is simple, yet powerful. The spirit world rarely comes into our life in a flashy way like the movies show. For most people, it's the seemingly little things like what you've experienced. Things that just make you wonder.
