Hi Winters, just been catching up on all the comments.

Have you ever delved into the history of your family's land in Georgia? I mean public records, births/deaths/marriages etc. You could even look into the surrounding area. Anna's got to be traceable. Between you and the rest of your family and your mothers friends you've got a great chance of finding out who she is.

Don't apologise for not commenting quickly. Half the people who submit stories don't comment back at all!😆

Whoops, forgot to mention: I actually found the sketch and attached it to my submission confirmation email a day or two afterwards, but I don't know when exactly it will be put in the story. Fair warning, I'm not even close to a pefessional artist, but I tried to get key features across. Here's to hoping it'll be soon! 😁

I'm sincerely glad you enjoyed it! Haha, the funniest thing is the crawling scared the pants off me at first, as my first thought was of something out of The Exorcise or The Ring. With her long dark hair and white nightgown, Anna certainly looked the part 😆

Dandk-

Thank you for your patience and understanding! I stopped seeing Anna while we still lived in the motel, and have not seen her since I have moved into my current home with my family. I hope that helps!

Hello WintersAzazel,
I thoroughly enjoyed your reading your experiences, especially the part where you mentioned Anna crawling towards your cot. 😨
Looking forward for the sketch of Anna. Greetings from India!

WintersAzazel, thanks for all of your answers! That really helps clarify your events for me. And please don't feel ashamed for not having all of those answers right offhand. Those are really detailed questions, and it's very hard to be prepared for any random question.

To make sure I understand, you stopped seeing Anna while you were still living in the hotel, or after you moved into your house?

Thanks again!

No, I did not know that, so thanks! That will definitely be a little easier on me. 😁

WintersAzazel - unfortunately checking the site is the only way to know if there are new comments. If you haven't figured this out on your own, you can go to your profile and check the comments that way. It's easier than tracking down your story. And when there are more stories that move yours off the home page, it will be a whole lot easier.

I am back already with clarification!

So, according to my mom, she actually DID in fact know the detective. She said that they were friends for awhile before the whole 'Anna' thing came up. And she says that after my sketch of Anna was sent out, the detective recognized her as the ghost that had been hanging around her home. Anna had been comunicating with her through visions and dreams for a period of time, and when she saw my sketch and recognized her, she immediately called my mom and told that her Anna was at her home, and proceeded to describe some of the details of the visions she had seen. My mom recognized many of the described surroundings, and asked in length for more details, and after the detective revealed a few things that you would have to have lived there to have known of, it was proven that it was indeed my grandmothers land that Anna was trying to show.

I hope this answers most of your questions! I feel so ashamed for not being sure of all this before I posted the story, and I hope this makes up for it. 😊

Hi everyone!

So, I'm going to try to answer the questions that I can at the moment, though some I will have to ask my mother for clarification at a later time. I hope this is alright with you 😊

First off, the most commonly asked question seems to be what I meant by psychic detective. I believe that she worked with the police force as a psychic consultant for certain cases. I can't remember where she was based from, but I'll be sure to ask my mother later.

Dandk-

I have no problem answering your questions, in fact thanks for having enough interest to ask them!

Yes, my mother does have a noticeable southern accent, as does the rest of my family. And no, I do not believe that she knew the detective prior to the call, though I will ask her to make certain.

As for embracing her gifts, I mostly meant that she grew more open about her abilities, and in turn began to show a little more believability, I suppose, when it came to my brothers and my own experiences. She also began doing readings for close friends and family members.

I do not think the detective knew that we had lived in a hotel; the first time she contacted us was during the tail end of our stay. In fact, I believe we were actually in the midst of moving into our current home. She ended up contacting us again after we had moved in, which is when we learned of her connection to my great grandmothers land.

I don't know if this will help, but I will also add that my great grandmother died a few years prior, and the property is in my uncle's name. The particular area Anna seems to be indicating however, is somewhat bordering my great uncle's land. Sorry if this seems somewhat confusing! It's a LOT of land, and if you've ever been to Georgia, you know that property lines between relative's end up a little...blurred. I probably should have put this in the story, I sincerly apologize! The land itself had two previous homes (both belonging to my great grandmother, one of which being the home she grew up in as a child) both of which previously caught fire, and is currently homing my uncle, his wife, and their daughter in a brand new trailer they purchased after my great grandmothers trailer became the subject to an arsony (we still don't know who did it). It also houses an old grocery shop that belonged to my great grandmothers father.

Lady-glow-

Hi! I believe it was through dreams and visions, though, once again, I will make sure to ask for further clarification. As for the location, the detective had told my mother of some of the things she had seen, and my mother recognized certain key features she had remembers from the land (I don't remember what exactly they were, will ask later.) My mother had spent her whole life in the deep south, and knows the land like the back of her hand. After hearing the detective describe something that sounded incredibly similar to my great grandmothers land and home, my mother asked a few questions, and I believe they narrowed it down to the backwoods behind my great grandmothers land.

I am so incredibly sorry for not being able to bring more clarification at the moment! I thought I knew all the details there could possibly be, but apparently I wasn't paying as much attention as I thought I was 😢 Rest assured, I will get as many details as possible ASAP and post it here. Thank you for your questions and patience!

(p.s. I'm sorry for this late response, I'm not receiving any notifications in my email when a comment is posted, and have therefore been trying to check the site every few hours)

Hi WintersAzazel,

Thanks for posting your story. I am hoping you can answer a few questions that will help clarify things for me.

Can you describe what you mean by stating that your mom started to embrace her gifts? Does this mean she started advertising her psychic services?

Was the psychic detective someone your mom met that then had the visions that she shared with your mom?

Does your mother speak with an accent that could be considered southern?

Did the psychic detective know you were living in a motel? And thus, moved to Vancouver and living there while getting on your feet?

Thanks for posting!

Hi OP. For clarity, can you define exactly what is meant by the term "psychic detective" please?

I have some additional questions but the framing if them in some cases is contingent upon what the above term actually means.

Cheers

Hi, Winters:

I got confused about these parts of your story:

"... My mother was contacted by a psychic detective. The detective claimed that Anna has shown up at her home, and she had some information we might find useful..."
Do you mean Anna 'told' the detective where and how to find your mother, like address, phone number, etc?!

By 'psychic detective' -do you mean this person belongs to a law enforcement body in charge of investigating cold cases? Was she aware of Anna's death before her ghost contacted her? Was she working on Anna's disappearance before the spirit contacted her? Does the detective live in Vancouver?

"... When prompted, we were all shocked to learn that Anna led the detective straight to my great grandmother's land, a woodsy area in Dahlonega, Georgia..."
Do you know the way Anna communicates with the detective: words, images, feelings, sensations, Ouija board, etc?
How did the detective come up with the name, location and ownership of the land?

I'll appreciate your input.

Thanks for sharing.

And yes, it sucked majorly. By the end of it, we were all ready to strangle each other! We refrained however, just barely 😆

Tweed-

Thank you so much for commenting on my story, and for your concern as well! In all honesty, I was a bit afraid to actually post my story at first, but after lurking on this sight like a creeper (lol 😆) for about two years and noticing all the support everyone got, I finally decided to give it a go!

As for the psychic detective, no worries there! My mother doesn't believe in paying for things like that, and is EXTREMELY private. According to her, the detective called her up, saying that Anna has appeared in her home and kept showing her visions of a place, that when looked up, was my great grandmothers property! Of course, the detective didn't know it was a relative's property until my mother confirmed it, but it was still a pretty wowza moment. But I do understand you concern and will keep it in mind, so thanks!

Lastly, thank you for the compliments! I'm really glad that you found my story a good enough read to comment. I will admit that at times my inner writer wanted a say, but I refrained! As for thinking that I could have figured it out, again, thanks! As I've stated, I'm still kind of getting used to this whole 'accepting the fact that I not only see but sense dead people' thing, but it's people like you that make me glad for it! After I told my brother about this sight and the people here, he told me he wanted me to post some of his experiences! He has the same problem as me, but his is slightly harder because of the more malicious nature of the spirits that appear to him, so I might be posting another one soon!

Wow, this has ended up getting quite long...I'm sure you don't need to be a psychic to know that I'm a chatterbox 😆

Oh and I forgot to say, you wrote this really well. It wasn't confusing at all, quite the opposite, a joy to read.😊

Hi WintersAzazel,

I don't mean to diminish from your experience but I need to ask. Is this psychic detective charging any money?

I can't help being skeptical at all these psychics suddenly weighing in on something you seem pretty darn capable of figuring out. I understand wanting an outsiders perspective and this is great for confirmation. But all these psychics seem to be buzzing around like flies around...well.

Nothing gets me mad like scammers who give paranormal research a bad name. Be careful is all I mean.

Tell your Mum not to give them ANY details about ANYTHING.

By the way living in a motel like that for a year must've SUCKED! 😲
