I reread the story and the guy who got killed was 36. I'm not saying, I'm just saying (if you catch my drift).

I would swear that another article I read it said the guy that got killed was in a different room from his foreman. Like room 17 or something. If anyone comes across that in doing any additional research, could you post it? I can't seem to find the site I found that information on. I just looked it up too, that's the sad part.

Well, if you look at it from this angle about room 18... 2 times 3 is 6. Six times 3 is 18, so there are two connections there. This almost feels like that movie the Number 23... Lol.

Whitebuffalo- 11/07 you said? 11+7=18 (again, multiple of 3). I think we could be on to something. Everywhere that I look no one seems to directly connect numerology to paranormal activities.

What do different belief systems say about the whole mirror thing Devious saw in her dream? Obviously if you play into the Silent Hill idea, they are portals. Could that be the case with this hotel room?

Devious- I have to state this for my own good, your story is the stuff nightmares are made of. I think Freddy Kruger would be balled up in the fetal position from this one.

Funny enough whitebuffalo, I'd asked you the same question a while back on your story, maybe 4 is to many and 2 is not enough? But seriously I wonder how many paranormal stories here involve the number three?

Wow. The numerology thing pulled me in from checking out all the comments. How very odd, though I do not think CERTAIN persons will think so...
In November of '07, I posted that same exact question in one of my stories here on site. Amazing.
I truly wonder how much numerology really DOES play in the paranormal?
I have GOT to check out all of these new comments.

I bet you could guess what number I was questioning, can you not, Granny? That is right. The number three.
Wa-do.

Devious: Mybad?...I just read the link you provided, and came up with some more interesting "multiples"...Room 18: 1+8=9...A.45 caliber gun: 4+5=9...Wow, it just keeps getting spookier!...I have goosebumps now! πŸ˜†

This thing won't let me put a space between A and.45...soooo not a typo! πŸ˜†

Smokey: I think you have a good point with the multiples of three also... And I don't think it's just coincidence... Devious is very sensitive, and perhaps under different conditions may still have had some kind of experience, but the factors being what they are made it a lot more intense, in my opinion...

Any thoughts Devious?

ZZ- I wonder if your theory could be taken a bit further? Since the events of Devious' story and that of the murder took place at around 9 pm (or 2100). Which if you think about it, both 9 and 21 are multiples of 3. 9 is 3 times 3. 21 is 3 times 7. I mean, I see a lot of 3's connections I could write down. Do you think an awful lot of it just happens to coincide with the story? Or am I just thinking too much into it? Is there a connection between hauntings and numerology?

DA- In anything you've read about that place, have you found anything about a haunting there, or was it just the murder? I'm sure you and your fiance weren't the first to have an experience like that at that hotel.

Thank you, everyone, for your input!

Zzsgranny & Smokey: Now that you guys mention it, the amount of people did coincide, and that may have added to creating the right circumstances for this negative entity to manifest. I'm also going to get my fiance's perspective on the whole thing.

Smokey: Nothing else really seemed to happen for the rest of the trip. We stayed the next night in another hotel, and neither of us had trouble sleeping or experienced anything out of the ordinary.

DRKNESS and SmokeyKnight: I think there is power in the number three...It's one of my favorite numbers... It just seems like lights blink three times, or three knocks, occurances at 3am, etc... I could probably name quite a few, but you get the gist... In this story, there were three people in both incidents... They were in the same adjoining rooms... The same negative emotions seem to be present... Now the circumstances may change if say, the three people in the adjoining rooms were total strangers... With Devious, and the construction workers, they were all familiar with each other... So there's the connection... The three thing is something to think about though, and we all love that! 😊

There was also some discussion about the weather conditions on one of my stories... The electricity that is present in the air during a storm I believe has a way of producing conditions ripe for the paranormal...

Hope I've made my thoughts clear! πŸ˜†

Darkness- in re-reading the story, it does seem the mother was in a separate room. Which makes it more interesting because in looking into the article Devious posted and others of the like, the three construction workers were in two rooms. If I read correctly, the man who was shot was in the separate room. So in that there is an obvious difference but if what I am recalling from the article is true, the connection is still there.

ZZ- I'm interested in this concept of the 3's you spoke of. Could you expand on that a little more (I know it makes me sound a little... Ignorant but whatever).

DA- Were there any further incidents after you and the other two left? Or was everything calm after that? The only thing I could think outside of this being an actual incident would be maybe coincidence that it was storming and there was that fight and everyone having that messed up vibe? The only reason I am having a hard time doubting this whole story is A) you told us the circumstances around the situation, b) you defined the location to the best of your ability, c) it makes sense. Idk, maybe I'm just over thinking this.

I believe there is just a very negative energy that has been left there, obviously causing you and your fiance to argue and to lose your appetites. I'm curious about what SmokeyKnight and zzsgranny have brought up are you saying that the effects are because of the amount of people, or are you delving in to the power of three theory? The mother was in a differant room though?

SmokeyKnight: Aussiedaz and I had a small conversation about the paranormal and the number three... That's an interesting observation!...It would be cool to test that theory... With a storm and without...

My other though in reading the article you posted is that there were three workers and then you, your other half, and his mother. So it may be a collective energy thing. Where I'd be curios on a solo basis, I am wondering if the three of you PLUS the storm set up the right circumstances. Thoughts?

Troyarn! Good to see another "old timer" again! 😊 I hope your stay is going well, too. My fiance and I have kicked around the idea of going out there again, partly because we both want to find it out if it was JUST the right circumstances, or if this situation could be re-created; and partly because we want to see if we can get any concrete evidence of a haunting. If we do decide to take the trip, it would mean having to pick up some equipment and I am one broke lady right now... One thing that my fiance mentioned after I discussed the comments here with him was that it could be the EMFs thrown off by the electrical storm which made this manifestation so strong. If so, that place would be off the charts, and probably not just during a storm!

Please let me know if you do decide to stop in, and DO be careful...

Excellent story, DeviousAngel! I've not read one such as this in some time. I am visiting family here in the Midwest and am tempted to go check this place out. Whatever it is, it seems it was there before the construction workers (seems it got them angry as it did you and your fiancee).
Again, great story! Thanks for sharing it with us.

Smokey: it was an electrical storm, and a REALLY bad one at that. It didn't clear up until a few minutes before we stopped, and it was a really bizarre night; the kind where your hair stands on end and your skin feels all prickly. It was also a full moon, so I'm not sure but that may have played into it too.

I also think you're correct in what you say about manifestations happening most strongly in our dreams, because it's one of the times in which we are most vulnerable. My fiance is also very gifted with being able to sense presences and "vibes", as you put it, although I think he and I are both too scared to fully explore what we are capable of.

Thank you for your reply!

I'm a little curious about this spirit or whatever we want to call it. Maybe It's because I haven't dealt with so much of this stuff in a while that I'm rusty, but isn't the easiest way for a demon/spirit/spectre/ghost/whatever to manifest itself through dreams? I kind of logic it out as the energy can be infinite, but without the will it's can't physically come to be other than a vibe.

DA- What kind of storm was it that was happening that night? Tornado? Rainstorm? Electrical storm? And do you think the storm played any part into the manifestation of these energies? IMO, I think a storm would be the easiest time for an entity to manifest. And the collective energy between you and your other half and the will to continue probably gave whatever it was the chance to come into your room (being the source of it's energy for the night) and play off of both of your energy and your wills to continue the fight. I could be way off, but that's kind of what stepped forward into my mind upon finishing this story.

Btw, great relay of the story... I almost felt like I was there.

Lou: You are most likely right there. NOT knowing is worse than knowing, IMO... Which is why what makes paranormal incidents so scary! If you can't see it but you know it's there, your senses are instinctively at odds with each other about what to do.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read and reply!

DA,
My opinion is that the entity may not have had the energy to present itself as a full-bodied apparition or could not visually represent the terror it wanted to... So it audibly characterized itself as the worst, and left you guessing what it could be... The unknown is much scarier than the real thing sometimes... Sometimes not.

zzsgranny- I KNOW right?! It almost prompted me to leave, because I've seen so many stories on here that made me make this face --> (o_O) that I thought, really? You're going to tell me that MY experience is all about a DREAM?

But alas, I digress. πŸ˜† Part of the reason I wanted to post this is in hopes that someone might live near the area who can do a professional investigation of the place. I'd be really eager to find out if there's any kind of physical or scientific evidence of a haunting there. Of course, I don't wish anyone to have the same experiences but I would feel a little better knowing that my fiance and I aren't just two looney toons!

Devious: I can't believe this was rejected the first time!...This is one of the scariest things I've read!...Wow...And to echo Aussie, the fight between you and your fiance was probably from the vibes of the guy and his girl!...I bet there's a lot more stuff about that place than meets the eye, even the third eye!...For your experiences to be so similar, there can be no denying that this was paranormal stuff...

Thank you for a great story... And thanks to the mods for finally accepting it! πŸ˜† ❀

Darkness: maybe you're right about the bathroom thing being an act. Just hearing it flopping around in there was enough to make me want to turn tail and run, lol.

Danny: There were a lot of traumatic events that occurred within my family, but most of them happened before I was born. I am also curious as to why these visions, whether they are real or not, are so very real to me. It often times seems that the scary and bizarre events are more real the rest of reality, if that makes any sense. It's like, when I have these experiences, my senses are really wide open and attuned to everything around me. I see and feel everything in such otherworldly detail.

Leomhann: If you get brave and want to check it out, be my guest but please be careful! I'd be interested in hearing if anyone finds any kind of concrete evidence of paranormal activity at the place, such as EVP recordings, EMF readings, video or photographs, etc. If I'm not mistaken, the actual room number where the murder took place is noted in the article I linked.

Aussiedaz: Thank you for your kind comment. 😊 I wonder if perhaps something happened there even before the murder. It would be interesting to find out more about the place, though I don't know if I could personally stand saying there again.

DA, definitely not your imagination that's for sure, knowing the logical mind that you have, it most definitely has some thing to do with your research in regards to the guys argument with his girl, perhaps a tortured soul who can't come to terms with his own death generating a negative vibe that indirectly caused a argument between you and your partner, feeding of the living hanging on to his own past, great story as I said before you have a gift.

Devious,
One of the things I find interesting about your nightmares and your visions is that with my hallucinations as a seven year old was that they were so real. I left a lot of my hallucinations out, because my story became too long. But like you, my experiences became so very real. And I must admit, I don't know if many of them were past experiences embedded in my mind or simply nightmares. Like when my mother walked in with her boyfriend, and I thought he was carrying a couch on his shoulder and I began to laugh. I also had an image of my father hitting my mother square in the face with a hot iron. Ironically, I have the shape of a perfect burn of an iron on my right front foot. I was only four years old when my mother shot my father. I sometimes think my visions in my nightmares are from my head of past experiences.

It makes me curious about your family's past life and your childhood.
I wonder if somewhere in your family's history if there was a traumatic event.

Hey DeviousAngel what a story certainly would have scared the hell out of me, I think I would have slept in the car lol. I do believe something else was residing there feeding off your fear the whole can't get out of the bathroom act I think was a tactic done on purpose to cause more fear in you.

Thank you for sharing.

Wow. DA, thanks for that it was really interesting for me. I have experienced being in places with the same violence & restlessness like you're describing. I am glad that you, having had prior incidences & knowledge of spirits you could identify the problem & with being pretty freaked out but in some control at the same time had the mind to look into the place. Good job.

LouSlips, thank you for your comment. One thing I think is really weird, and I agree with you that it was probably not restricted by doors, why was it that it couldn't get out of the bathroom? How was I able to keep it barricaded in there simply by putting a chair under the door handle?

I think if you're right, and there was some kind of portal or gateway in that hotel, it may have been near the bathroom area. That was where I got the strongest vibe. In retrospect, I should have talked to the hotel clerk when we left and asked if anyone had had any strange experiences there before.

DA,
I highly doubt that whatever this was would be restricted by doors, or walls. The terror you felt is what it intended for you to experience.
Between the doppleganger images in the mirror and tv, and the animal noises from the bathroom... As you implied, I don't expect the activity began with the murder but caused it. With the severity of the events described, I would not be surprised if a portal exists.

Gem, I DEFINITELY will not be going back! I don't know WHAT was in there but whatever it was, it wasn't good...

Hobbyholly, the shooting happened a year prior to our stay there. I just thought it was extremely coincidental that there was a death in that exact hotel after what we experienced, and that a majority of the activity happened after 9:00, which was approximately when the shooting took place.

Now, you all know me as the stubborn skeptic, so I have tried to think of any way to try and explain this experience scientifically, but I can't. There was NO ONE staying in the room next to us, no construction or anything. In fact, after we realized that the door was open, I closed it on the way back to our room after pizza. They were the type of doors that lock automatically and only open with key cards. The door was open again when we left at roughly 6:00 in the morning, before the cleaning lady had gotten the chance to do her rounds. I don't know if maybe this bad thing may have been in the room next to us, or if it was able to move from room to room in the hotel, but it was a definite scary experience.
