granny: I do believe that everything happens for a reason. I just don't always understand it, nor agree with it. But what do I know? I am glad for you that you were able to move on, pick up the pieces and make a life that you are proud of and are happy. And that you still honor John's memory and can sort of come to terms with it all. I really admire you. ❀ I'm glad that we have met! I have found your stories very encouraging. It's good therapy. Thank you so much. ❀

Oh, and thanks, I figured out the favorites thing as well. Hahaha Sometimes I would swear that I have blonde roots and can be a little ditzy. πŸ˜†

Hippychick: Thanks for reading my story!...Yea ex is just not the right term...That's such a cool name for your little girl... I bet she's beautiful, as well... I started dating when Leslie was about 18 months old...He's my husband, and the father of my two boys... Funny how life works out huh?...I can't imagine my life without any one of my kids, and I know that if John had not passed, my boys wouldn't be here... 😐Everything happens for a reason...

Oh, and see the little hearts at the top of the page, one by the author's name, the other on the right?...Click on the left to make the author your favorite, the right for the story...

Again, thanks for reading and commenting... It means alot, coming from one with so similar a past... ❀

zzsgranny: I agree with your older comment to zishu. I still call my fiance my fiance because even though we never got married, we didn't break up therefore he is not my ex. I do also call him my daughter's father because well, he is. Lol I haven't even dated in the 3 years since he's passed so I don't know what I would call him if I ever decide to move on... But never my ex. I just feel like that's disrespectful. All of my ex's are my ex's for a reason. Lol

Anyway, Chris (my fiance) comes to me in dreams too. He always looks so handsome and is smiling and acts like he never went away. He says things like "where've you been?" or "there you are!" And I can tell the difference between dreaming about him and when he does visit me. Sometimes I can even smell him. I'm glad he hasn't forgotten about me!

My deepest condolances for your losses. ❀ Life can be very unfair. I also love it that you named your daughter after her father, I thought about that with my daughter... But her name is the one we mutually picked out before she was even concieved so I went with that. Her name is Novalee Rose, which means "chases butterflies" and a lot of people associate spirits with butterflies so it's weird how she lives up to her name... And she litterally loves to chase butterflies. Lol

One more thing... How do you add stories to your favorites? Sorry, I'm new here. Lol πŸ˜†

Hello again, to answer your question my premonitions are somewhat sporadic they seem to happen anywhere from two days before an event to about three months beforehand. Some of the events are hardly worth telling (they come to me about two or three days beforehand) and the more serious stuff is told to me months before the event actually happens. Also I have taken your advice in relation to my story. I will be seeing a medium in a few weeks to try to contact my Great Grandmother to see if she needs to tell me something. Thank you for your help it was much appreciated. 😁 😊.

David: Thank- you for the comment... The things in these dreams will generally happen within a few days, either the next day or within a week...Yea, I bet his gramma was trying to tell you something...I'm sorry for your loss!...I think spirits can see a lot further into the future than anyone can imagine... Is the time frame between your premonitions and the events always the same or somewhat sporatic?...Maybe start documenting them to get a better idea of when they occur... That way at least you'll be kind of prepared!

I wish you the best, keep me posted on stuff... Thanks again 😊

What a sad yet uplifting and inspirational story. Thank you for sharing it. It shows the positives of the spirit world and how it affects us in our lives. My father also died from a negligent driver who clipped him as he was walking near the road. After my Mum consulted a psychic she (the psychic) said he had been taken from us because he had to be taken away. (He had gone insane after going on a type of chemotherapy because he had a brain tumour. This chemotherapy did the same thing as cocaine and anabolic steroids mixed together and unsurprisingly he lost his mind. I never recognised him again). When the psychic said this about Dad's death I felt reassured and it also took some of the sting out of death. About half a year before this happened my father's Grandmother died a few days before stuff in my room simply started coming to life and moving (I had NEVER been so scared in all of my life!) I now believe she (his grandmother) was probably trying to get my attention to tell me what awaited in the future and to be honest she was probably throwing a tantrum about what she may have seen (she still threw tantrums into her late 80's).Now could I ask a question? How long before these events did you get these premonitions? I used to get premonitions in dreams about good things that would happen when I was a child and now that I am nineteen my premonitions in dreams are few and far between and the events that occur from them happen months after the dreams happen. (They used to only be days before an event would happen). Since Dads death last year I often get all sorts of dreams where he is telling me something important, but this happens months before the actual "event" occurs. If spirits can actually see this far into the future it may explain why my Great-grandmother spirit caused such as fuss. Thank you for your time. 😊

Aussie: It was a very difficult time in my life when John passed... I was 23 years old, unmarried, the father of my child ripped from me by a careless driver...I'll e-mail you the whole story... Very private...BUT, I have always held the belief that everything happens for a reason... If John had not had that accident, I never would have met my husband, or had my boys... Sometimes it freaks me out...

By the way, the psychic site published my story!...It's related to this one, maybe interesting to you! πŸ˜†...The title is He Led The Way... Hope you like it!

SundayDrive: thank you for reading... My oldest granddaughter (5 yo) has a few "imaginary" friends... One of them is "John"...He gives her kisses on the forehead before she goes to sleep at night 😊...She has been saying this since she was old enough to talk, and knew nothing of her grandfather's name... She described him to a TEE to my daughter, who has only seen pictures of him, none of which Zoe has seen, I keep them in my Bible...She's a spooky kid sometimes! πŸ˜†

Thank you for the comment!

Awww. How cool is that?
What about the Grand-babies? Does he have a hand in their safety and upbringing too? It kind of sounds like no, but, they are a part of her too.

Thanks again Ibelieve...Yes, emphysema is a nasty beast... He was diagnosed with it in his fourties, and passed when he was 72... A very long time to suffer, indeed... I was very close to my Dad... I miss him terribly... Are you sure you haven't gotten any signs from your mom?...Sometimes they are very subtle about letting you know they're there... ❀

My mother had Emphysema as well. I lost her at a young age & never got to say goodbye. She's been gone over 23 years now & has yet to contact me from the other side. I bet your dream about your dad was comforting. He let you know in his own way that his time was coming soon. Great story, zzsgranny! 😊

I tried but unfortunately it comes without a warning label...hehe. But on the plus side I saw a very recent dream involving a lot of pink ribbons and a baby crying. Guess what? My cousin gave birth to a very healthy baby girl a few days later! So I guess there is a good side to my gift after all...

A gift? More like a curse... It sucks because every time something bad is about to happen I know about it. It's no fun being the bearer of bad news at the risk of being labeled a loony case. Now my family regard me as a sort of bad omen of sorts, well my extended family anyway. Plus seeing those horrible visions suck, because I know it means someone in the family is going to move on from this life...

anjoubelle:...wow...that's an incredable gift you have... I know that whenever I have a premonition, if I tell someone about it, it usually doesn't happen, but if I don't, then it does... Does that make sense?...I've written many poems, because sometimes, I just have to get it out, and there are times when things have to follow their own course...it's hard to know when to tell someone or not...

I am so glad I'm not the only one with these experiences... I thought I was crazy but when I was seven I had a horrible nightmare of my uncle swinging from a rope in his room, dead, screaming I woke my parents who assured me it was a nightmare but imagine their shock when a week later, a phone call came saying my uncle had hung himself and no one had found him until three days later...
Another one was when I was twelve, and I was at my neighbor's house playing with their daughter, when her father walked into the room to call us for lunch. But instead of seeing his face all I saw was a bloody and bashed pulp. I left, too shaken to say anything but a month later, he died in a car crash, his face was beyond recognition and they had to use his dental records to identify the body.
Then a few years ago, my grandmother ended up in hospital because she was a severe diabetic, two nights later, I woke up around 4.30 am with severe chest pains. Mum got worried and nearly called the ambulance when the pain stopped. An hour later, my grandfather called to say my grandmother had died of a massive heart attack an hour earlier.
My mum reckons that I am more sensitive to things around me... But it still freaks me out.

Thanks for sharing the great story!

You know what when a person dies and if that person come into your dreams and ask someone to join him and if that someone joins him he/she will die. But if that person doesn't join him then he/she will not die.Its a total truth.I have heard and encountered this kind of incidents.

Take care. ❀

hanbobs: that is exactly the way I felt after those two dreams...not that he was warning me but comforting me so that I could be stronger for those who need me to be...and there were good ones too!...like I knew I was pregnant with both of my sons before I ever missed my period, and what sex they were, thanks to John...there are so many, I couldn't possibly write them all down...I think it's his way of taking care of our daughter, the best way he knows how!

Dreams are so powerful when it comes to things like this - my grandma has visited me many times in the past after she died. It is so comforting. 😊
The dreams all make sense for you as well and seem to link to future events, at least you know John is there to guide your friends and family in the right direction. You know he is looking after them and showing them around their new world! πŸ˜†

that is amazing... Just goes to show that they may be physically gone, but never forgotten. And they remind us they haven't forgotten about us either.

zishu: he was my boyfriend of 5 years prior to his death... We were not married...I am now and have been for twenty -five years married to my husband and father of my two boys...I can't bring myself to call him anything else, as ex-boyfriend is not appropriate, in my opinion because he never was an "ex"...and no, not only to signify someone's death...if you read it, I say "when something, good or bad, was about to happen that would have an impact on her"...these were a couple of dreams that stand out in my mind...I'm sorry if I've confused anyone and hope I cleared some things up...thanks for reading, and for all the comments!

I am wondering why you only refer to him as your "daughter's father" instead of late husband or boyfriend or lover.

Kind of creepy that he only appears to warn of people's death.

How wonderful that you still see him, even if it's not as often as you would like. He must have been a (mentally) strong man and a good one to boot. Brightest blessings. 😁

Truly remarkable. I've seen signs all around me. It would take me minutes to days or months to figure out why everything would line up in the way they would, and the only reason I'd ever pay attention to these things was because I would feel a certain way upon first sighting it. I'm sorry for your losses. Your ties are truly remarkable.

Thank you for sharing. ❀
