Jinn On Terrace

I am a frequent visitor of YGS but this is my first story of my personal experience. This story is about incident happen in my village (Rajisthan, Sikar). It was my sister's wedding. Me and all my family live in Mumbai but we often visit our village in Diwali vacation. Only once a year. So it was my sister wedding in my village so my whole family went to village to celebrate it.

First small introduction of my house in village. It was one storey house. On ground floor there are four rooms, kitchen, bathroom and toilet. At the side of toilet there is a staircase that leads to first floor. On first floor there are only two rooms and a veranda

(or you can call a big balcony) and a staircase leading to terrace of the house.

So all my joint family were living in the house to celebrate my sister marriage. The night we reach home in village I was very tired all of my family were given their rooms to sleep. Me and my uncle and my cousins were sleeping at first floor veranda. On first night

I was very tired so I slept peacefully. On second night we all slept little late. In the middle of the night I wake up to answer the call of nature. When I wake up I saw my grandmother standing and leaning down from the wall of veranda (balcony) I felt little weird

Because my grandmother was sleeping in ground floor and what she was doing on 1st floor at 2 am in morning. When she saw me she just started walking downstairs. I went behind her.

She took left and went towards toilet. I also went towards toilet and saw the light of the toilet on. I waited outside the toilet I thought she was in. But after waiting for approximately 5 minutes I just check the room my grandmother was sleeping in. She was sleeping peacefully. When I open the door of toilet there was no one but at that time I was feeling very sleepy so I didn't pay much attention to it. I went inside toilet and answer the call of nature and went on first floor veranda and slept. At morning when I asked my grandmother that what she was doing on 1st floor at night, she replied that yesterday night she never went on 1st floor she then further replied that there is jinn living on terrace of the house. When I shared these incident with my father he said that yes there is a jinn

But he also said that after the renovation of the house there is no trace of the jinn. My father further said that when they were small they always heard that someone is walking on staircase drinking water from pot but the jinn never harm us. My father also said the story of my aunt.

He said "when my aunt came in the house as a newly bride she saw these jinn in her husband (my uncle) form. And at that time my uncle was living in Dubai. So she was very scared and went to some mullah and asked for help. Mullah came and blessed the house and went at that night when my aunt had a dream in dream she saw a man with a beard and his face was half burnt the man said that he will never let my aunt to stay in house. After this incident whenever my aunt slept in our house she always felt someone is shaking her toes and she always fall ill. Even her children fall ill if they stay in our

House. Later my uncle built a separate house away from ours."

Jinn are of two type one evil and one good. I came to know that jinn that was living in my house was good he never harm us nor my aunt he just wanted her to stay away from this house.

This was my story if there was any mistake in writing or you didn't understand any thing please comment I would like to answer it

Very interesting story! I find the different entities of different cultures a fascinating study.

What is interesting is that they take the forms of people that you know. There is a similar theme to the Christian demons. They are also said to be able to take the forms of familiar people to coax you into trusting them.

I am glad that you and your family feel safe:)

Best wishes!

TeenyTiny:jin is not a house spirit nor they are human spirit. If you want to know more about jins in my culture (islam) you can google search them.
Shady4u: I meant to say that jin never harm her physically like slapping her. They often do that if we disturbed them and also in summer nights in my village
People sleep on there terrace for fresh air so in my house when all the members were sleeping on terrace including my aunt. The jinn shook her right leg toe and told her to go down and sleep and her children never seriously fall ill but with little fever. So it was better for my aunt and her children to stay away from that house.

I wonder why the jinn in your house punishes your aunt and her children. Anywho! I enjoyed your story. It had an underlying creepiness to it. I gotta admit if I were in your position I would have woken someone up so they could stand outside the bathroom while I emptied my bladder. What can I say except I am a coward. Haha
My question for you is how do jinns come about residing in a home? Are they like house spirits who are "invited" to keep the house and family safe? Or is jinn synonymous to a human spirit? According to a quick google search, djinns are inhuman. The details about djinn vary with culture so I am interested in how you view or define what a djinn is. Please enlighten me! 😆

Got a question. If your aunt and the kids tend to fall ill, even if that doesn't sound like a big deal, how is that not harmful? Plus, if you believe the spirit in your aunt's dream to be the Jinn, he sure threatened her that he won't let her live there in peace. To me, this doesn't really sound friendly at all. Apart from these, your story was really good. I love stories on Jinns! Thank you so much for sharing one.
