I Lost My Cat In 2010 On Labor Day And She Has Returned

I lost my cat of seven years on Labor Day of last year. My wife went downstairs to grab a DVD for some kids who were at the house and found her lying on the ground dead. It was truly devastating. She slept with me every night for seven years.

I buried her in my backyard under a beautiful rose bush and some stone work. We don't know what happened and I didn't want a necropsy because I didn't want them to cut her open.

Last Sunday I was lying in bed by myself watching TV around 3:30 am, when I felt her jump on the bed and walk across my chest. She went to my left arm where she usually slept curled up and I reached for her and she was gone. I couldn't see her only feel her weight and the smooth coat of hers on the edge of my right hand. She was just gone, I bawled my eyes out.

The night after that I was laying in bed and I heard her crying in the room next to our bedroom, which also made me cry.

But today, I was playing my drums in our basement, out of the corner of my left eye I saw her shadow jump across the concrete wall about 10 feet away from me. I didn't think much of it until she did it again about 15 seconds later, then I knew something was going on. But I kept playing to see if she would do it again and sure enough she did, 4 or 5 times.

This scared me for some reason, I wasn't scares while she was on me but her shadow had a different effect, I had to leave the basement. But before I did I told her she was scaring me and I didn't like it. I miss her so much and that's the first paranormal experience that I had seen with my own eyes. She's here, and I want her here, I guess I will just have to get used to it.

Oh I remembered my cat too! It passed away 6 years ago. 😢 It still visits me in my dreams. But I know it will never come back. Cause animals doesn't have souls. I missed it everyday! I even kept it's picture in my mirror and smiled at it whenever I pass there to brush my hair.

I've seem a cat walking around my house once, but I didn't know who's it was, it wasn't mine. My mom did see our cat that ran away a while back, and it just stood outside or door and sat there, and then she ran off. It's sad to even think of her and her daughter (She had kittens, we kept all of them but one of the two kittens ran away, along with her.) and her running off. I now have one cat that had to live in our basement and outside since she kept peeing in our house, it wasn't my decision, but she had too. I don't get to see her much on count of that, and because she doesn't like to be around our dog that much either. She is probably sticking around because your her faithful and loving owner, and she wants to be there and hang around for you amd her.

I wouldn't have seen this story had you not commented on it Carnaition. I'm not sure if the OP will return, but regardless, I feel for you, Shediedonlaborday2009.

I saw the shadow of my dead cat looking out the window like she always used to (story on Psychic-experiences.com). I still cry thinking about her, even though its been 1 1/2 years. I think just as much as a memory of her will always be with you, a memory of you will be with her, which is why they check up on us. I don't want to write much more, since I don't want to cry tonight too, but it was a lovely story. I can only hope we both get to see our pets again, in the afterlife. ❤

You shouldn't be too concerned about your cat bieng back. My dad's cat Bubah died not to long ago, but he says he can still feel him laying down next to his leg. I even felt Bubah laying down next to my leg at one point. I've even seen my little sister chase and play with what I believe to be Bubahs spirit. It's really funny to watch, and no one has been harmed, so I believe whateve it is, that one spirit is good. I have sensed other spirits that arent as friendly, but that's another story. 😊

Ha ha. SmokeyKnight made a funny comment! Maybe cats really do have nine lives! I have a cat myself, and she is the best thing that has ever happened to me! I hope when she passes on that she will still be with me everyday until I die. Thanks so much for sharing! It was really a sweet story.

Best wishes

May GOD let her into heaven forever. My advice to you is try to find another kitten who might look mighty similar to your older cat who passed away and raise her with the same love and care and name her after your previous cat and this could help your cat's soul to find eternal peace knowing that her owner still remembers her and loves her like he used to always. Also the happenings around you are her way of helping you to gain some relief after her demise and ease a bit of your pain. God bless you and once again may your cat's soul find eternal peace in heaven.

Hi Shediedonlaborday2009, I completely understand the way you feel, and I'm so sorry for your lost. Animals get to crawl so deep into ones heart that it's so difficult to let go of them. I'm an animal lover and had many animals coming and going into and out of my life, and cried many tears when they died. If you want to- read my story-Neelsies final goodbye. If you read my story you will understand why I totally agree with the fact that it's better if animals do move on. She stays with you to comfort you. She will move on if you say goodbye and let her go. I know it's easier said than done, but there is a wonderful place out there for animals too when they die. Take care, and thanks for sharing. Trix. 😉

What a sad but beautiful story. My mother has had the same sensation with my cat Scarlett. But we don't actually know if Scarlett is dead. If you love your pets enough in life, they will usually come back and see/visit you in the afterlife.
Love & Light, Rachel ❤

This is quite a case. I think you cat just wants to see you a few more times and comfort you. Maybe she's trying to let you know how she died or trying to tell you that she's fine and it's time to let go. I'm sorry about your cat btw. Keep us updated. 😐

She may be sticking around, trying to help ease your grief. In time, once the pain has lessened enough, it would be wise to tell her that you are ok and if she is ready to move on, you will be fine on your own. It's my belief that animals need to make that journey to the other side just as humans do. Animals seem to have more choice on when they are ready to do so. She will probably stay until she feels you are emotionally healed.
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Best wishes.
