Tiny Brown Boots

My story begins in an old house built around 1843. This home had over 17 rooms, a summer kitchen as well as a tunnel (filled in with large stones) that went under the house and to the barns out in the field. My very dear friend and I were always interested in old homes and especially the paranormal so we one day decided to call upon any spirits that may have been in her house. We were very serious for being 15 years old. We meant no harm to any of the spirits that may have been surrounding the house and the land. I think they knew that as well. Unexplained occurrences didn't begin happening right off the bat.

We were excited about the opportunity to learn everything we could regarding the history of the house. During our research is when the odd occurrences began to happen.

One afternoon while my friend and I were in her home alone, we heard the side door to the kitchen open and close as if someone had come into the house. We immediately stopped what we were doing and listened as we heard footsteps coming up the back staircase. Just to be silly, I crouched down and peered underneath the crack in the door thinking I wasn't going to see anything. I was shocked when I saw a tiny set of brown boots looking back at me. I quickly stood up, and opened the door to find that the landing was empty. My friend and I quickly began a search of the house to find that we were indeed alone.

This is the very first of many incidents that happened in her house. There were many more occurrences that truly made us feel that we were not alone. I'd love to post more of the strange occurrences that happened to us.

Thanks for reading my story.

I always find people's first brushes with the paranormal very interesting. Some run for the hills telling everyone, some pretend it never happened and then there are those like Metalmomma who use the experience to fuel their quest for more. Welcome to YGS.

[at] dreamergal72,

Hi dreamergal. I was wondering if you meant the Tuberculosis outbreak?
I remember that the children were dying much faster from it than the adults.

Thank you for all the comments on my story! I am very excited to be able to read others experiences as well as share my own. There were many more occurences that happened in that house, and I am working on the next story. At 15 we knew what was going on and yet we were more intrigued than scared... I am so thankful to be able to share with others who have/are experiencing the many faces of the paranormal. 😁

metalmomma3,
Welcome to ygs!
Now that is cool! When I think of the paranormal experiences I had at the age of 15, it's no wonder I'm here with everyone else. I think those times cemented things for me. You're old enough to know it's not your imagination, and to argue the point, if need be.
It's like a crossover stage for some of us I think. Where you get to the age that makes it harder to brush aside as a childhood fantasy, and start to seriously wonder what the heck is going on, and how did they do that?
That's what your story reminds me of, the awakening from childhood, and the realization that this stuff really does happen to regular people.
Those little boots?
I'll tell you what creeps me out the most about your story. It's the word "little". Once that gets stuck in your head, there's no going back man! 😲

Thank you for sharing metalmomma, it truly did take me back. I can't wait to hear more.

Jav 😊

How did you get into tyhe house? Was it abandonned? Did it belong to someone you knew? Can you tell us more about this house in general? Nice story, I just wonder how you came to know about this house.

metalmomma3 - at 15 years old, seeing a pair of tiny brown boots peeking back at me would have completely freaked me out 😨, especially when they weren't there when you opened the door LOL.

I'm just wondering if those tiny brown boots played a part in any of your other stories? Guess I'll wait and see 😊

Welcome to YGS.

Thank you for sharing! If you would like, I think it might be neat to look up the history of the house. Being that old, someone MUST have died in there! Thank you for sharing and I can't wait to read more of your stories!

Hello metalmomma3, and thank you for sharing this experience with us. I think I would be in the same puddle as hippiechick if I had seen that. That is so creepy 😨

The boots you saw sound like they could have been 19th century baby shoes. Did you ever find who they might have belonged to?

Great story, and I can't wait to read more of your experiences. 😊
