School Experience

My experiences centred around the time I was in junior school about 20 years ago. I loved my school but a lot of stories went around the school about the large school stage being haunted. The stage was a large platform (with a small hatch near the front) with curtains either side which led to a corridor behind the stage. There are three doors in that corridor which are small storerooms. The stories were of a young boy that went missing and the bones of a child (presumably of this boy) were found inside the small hatch. Not long after an old headmaster had supposedly hung himself behind the stage and him and the boy haunt the place.

During one Christmas concert when my class had to all stand on the stage, a friend of mine was stood next to the curtain that was partially open. She was seen crying and terrified while she stood there and later told us that something white repeatedly flowed past her disappearing behind the curtain.

Now, during break times and lunch times no one was allowed inside the school. Teachers very strict about this and always guarded the doors so no one could sneak in and go messing around. Teachers were also in the halls keeping watch. One lunch time I was bored and I begged the main dinner lady to let me go and get a ball from the games cupboard in the hall. She allowed me and kept watch just inside the entrance door while she waited for me. I ran into the big empty hall and quickly grabbed a tennis ball from the cupboard. As I came out I stopped dead as a banging sound came from somewhere behind the stage. It gradually got louder as it sounded like it was getting closer to the front. The curtains began to move and flap about, flicking up wildly as the banging got louder. There was no one flapping the curtain around. I dropped the ball and ran.

There is a small set of steps at the side of the building leading to the fire exit door for the corridor behind the stage. There is a small window next to the door allowing you to see all the way down the corridor. Me and my friends would hang out and sit against the door. One afternoon I was sitting with my back against the door lightly tapping on it with my knuckles. We all jumped as there was a loud knock that came from the other side. We jumped up and looked through the window to see if anyone was messing around in there. If there was anyone there they would be seen as there was nowhere to hide and would be seen running down the corridor. There was no one there.

Very high up on the side of the building near the roof of the stage there is a circular window. It never gets opened as it like 50 feet high. Many kids claimed to see a face of a boy looking out of this window. I was very sceptical until one break time I was sitting on the grass and looked up to see what was indeed a face of a boy looking out of the window. I kept staring until the bell went. After that no one seen or experienced anything again, at least not to our knowledge.

Great narration Julestoye! Too bad you can't find some history on the little boy. Sounds like it would have been a great place to set a recording device up.

Does anyone else have Pink Floyd's "The Wall" banging in their head? 😆

Hi Julestoye, that was a nice narration. If that school is still functioning, then try to find out from some of your friends in Cardiff as to whether the hauntings still continue. If you are in Cardiff, then try to contact the teachers or the retired staff. They might just tell you about it.

You said that after you saw the boy looking out of the window, none saw it. How could it be. That is quite confusing. Well, whether you have stopped asking about it or it just stopped. Please clarify.

Thanks for sharing.

Regards and respects to you.

Hi all, I have since been searching on the web about the history of the school. Nothing is mentioned about a boy or a headmaster. Cant find much history at all about the school in all honesty which makes me think it had all been kept hush hush. It seems a lot of history is missing. As it is a very big well known respected school they probably wanted to keep stuff like that quiet maybe. Who knows, but there is or was definitely something frightening around that school stage.

Wow, that is very spooky. Have you ever tried to dig up some history on the school. Maybe you could find old newspaper articles on the boy, or the headmaster. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Julestoye,
The stage of my old primary school in north Wales was said to be haunted, though we never saw a thing! One winter the roof of our classroom was blown off and so we had our classes on the stage in the school hall, if I had experienced anything similar to your story I would not have been happy!
Thank you for sharing your story and reminding me of my old school!

Great story! Where in the UK is the school, if I may ask? Have you done any research into local history to see if you can find the story of the boy's disappearance? The teacher saying "I can't talk about that" sounds to me like there was at least some truth to the story.

How old was the school and is it still there?

Scary story. Do you know anybody who goes to that school now, and what the school is like right now? Maybe you could share your experiences.

x77 - yes of course.

Takishma - Thank you, Noone really knew who the boy was. We asked teachers about the stories but they neither denied nor confirmed if they were true so we knew they must have known about it or perhaps seen something themselves. One teacher once said 'I can't talk about that'. We often wondered if that was the reason they became so strict about pupils going inside during break times.

excuse me, I am a user from Taiwan.

Your story is very nice and impressing, could I translate it into chinese, and submit the story to PTT (the biggest Bulletin Board System in Taiwan)?
I will attach your ID and original URL on the website.

Thank you!

A short and very interesting story. Did you find out who the boy was?
