Ghostly Sounds In My Old House A True Life Experience

When I lived in my last house we had a lot of alterations done. We bought second hand furniture for the lounge. It was from another area and it was kept in a garage for a long time.

On this particular day I was dropped off from work and as I was walking along my garden path I noticed the inside door was open in my porch. As I opened the porch door I heard the sound of lots of talking and laughing in a friendly entertaining way. At that moment I thought my son was home early from school and watching television. As I was just about to step inside it went completely quiet and as I entered the lounge there was no one in there and the television was off. I was so shocked and a bit on edge as I was expecting to see my son.

About 10-15 minutes after this my manager from work phoned me. After the conversation about work she said "are you ok?" I said "yes" but I was not. I wanted to tell her but thought she might think I was a bit funny. I did tell her about this a few weeks afterwards.

My conclusion is that it must had been the changes in the house and the sofas as they belonged to the seller's parents who had passed away. I would like to know if this has happened to anyone else.

Perhaps the owners of the settee liked entertaining. It was retro. They never had that design of the settee in the 1990s so it was old but in very good condition. I can only say on this that as the settee was stored away for a long time with so many memories, and a not letting go situation and the extensions in my last home were the profound paranormal scientific reasons for this.

2bornt2b maybe the lady in the red shirt probably made a turn to go to another block. Can you please describe the street that you live in? Does it have any curbs or is it a straight sidewalk?

HI chocoholic, I just want to ask you if it was an one time incident or did anybody else hear such sounds in your house like your son or spouse. I have a feeling that it could be residual but can't be sure without any further inputs from your end. But, if it is possible, you can make some inquiry or investigation about the house to your neighbours or the past owners. That could give you some more information. If there is any further information, kindly post it.

Nice narration and thanks for sharing.

Regards and respects to you.

Very interesting story here, chocoholic. I've heard of cases where a Spirit or Spirits are attached to objects, as in, instead of a house. This seems like it could very well be a case of attachment to an object.

It sounds as if it could be either something attached to the furniture or something stirred up in the house by the remodeling. Probably impossible to say which at this point.

Did you notice anything odd during the remodel before you moved the furniture in? Or anything around where the furniture was stored? How long after you moved the used furniture into the lounge did this incident take place? Did anything else ever happen?

In any case, it sounds like a happy haunting. Residual, maybe?
