I know what you mean, ever since I wrote this and started getting the feedback I've been thinking the same thing. The Oregon Caves Chateau is interesting, I've got an Uncle up in Grants Pass I've been wanting to visit anyway.
I can say that the food at the Anchorage is worth the trip. Steak and seafood, yummmm! Their Alaskan King Crab is to die for! LOL 😆

I really liked your story! I think it's really cool that your mom just treated George like he was living, because that can be really hard to do! Really good story though!:D

DC - you make me want to REALLY take a vacation this year and add this one on my list with Devious's motel and Lou's place, as well as the Oregon Cave's Chateau Moongrim gave us his review on among the others I can't think of right now.

Although explaining to Jerrica and Dalton that I want to go cross the United States and visit all the haunted places my friends have mentioned might NOT be a good idea!

You know, your friend is a lot like my mom 😆. The old ostrich theory. If I pretend it doesn't exist, it don't! Right! They can pretend all they want, can't they? George'll be standing right there in your friends face smiling at her while she's doing her best to "pretend" he's not there. But she knows. 😉 Might not want to admit or acknowledge, but she knows.

Oh, it was fun alright. I had more fun watching my mom rake the guy over the coals whenever he 'overdid it'. He's still there, my best friend works there and she says "Oh no Deane, I don't play the ghosty thing". She does the books for the restaurant, in my mom's old office, and is the first one in everyday. Alone. She says she was afraid to buy into it because she thought that would keep her from experiencing anything when she's there by herself. Didn't work. So now she just keeps her eyes forward and ignores all noises and any movements in her periferal vision. She PRETENDS it's nothing and just goes on with her work. I know, I know, it surprises me that she reacts that way. This girl is tougher than that, I've known her since we were 8 or 9 years old. But she's set man, she's not going to budge. I just laugh.
If anyone really does go up there I've got a couple of haunted hotels I could point you to as well. Just let me know. 😊 ❤

And I'm sorry, I had a couple of blonde moments!...1. We had breakfast or some meal there, (I just googled it)...2. I meant "vaca in August THIS year" LOL 😆 😆 ❤

oh man, A & E you say? If it is Paranormal State, you were smart in putting this up now. I only say that, because that crew has a history of going into a haunting and making a dramatic show of it. Those folks mean well, I believe. Seems like ratings may require them to create a situation that does not always exist. I'm glad to see they are no longer using Chip Coffee as their house psychic, and instead are going with Lorraine Warren... Who I believe is the real thing. Although, Chip was like a one man army of hilarity. My wife and I used to enjoy laughing at all the drama he brought.
One episode, Chip was trying to contact a not so nice entity in a seance like setting, with Lorraine Warren sitting next to him, along with the other team members. Chip starting carrying on like he was possessed by said entity, cursing like a sailor. Lorraine Warren leans over and slaps Chip right across the face, snapping him out of it...hilarious! We were rolling on the floor after seeing this on TV. 😁 😁
