The Shrouded Victim

I was 14 around the time my friend and I were sleeping in my basement one weekend. When we tried to go to bed however, I heard a low, almost growling noise. It sounded almost like heavy breathing coming from the far side of the room.

I was frightened, but my friend was asleep, so I told myself it was her snoring. Even then I had an odd feeling that we were being watched.

Shortly after, I began seeing red and orange floating lights coming from across the room. They moved without an exact path, but then flew quickly around in the air before blinking out or disappearing.

I couldn't sleep, even though it was probably 1:45 A.M. The breathing finally faded, even though the feeling of being watched didn't.

About half an hour later or so, I heard my friend move in her sleep. When I looked over to see if she was awake, I saw a shadow. At first I thought it was just a trick of the light from the clock, but it seemed to stand out against the wall.

It sat with its back slightly towards me, hunched over. Something like a noose seemed to be wrapped around its neck. The shape was small, almost child-like, and covered in a sheet of some sort.

I stared at it for no more then thirty seconds, as it stared down at my friend. Then, the figure turned at looked at me; it seemed to have no facial

wow zzsgranny you sure have a lot of posts! I don't have nearly as many as you though I have read over 4,000 of these ghost stories! I know in movies they put some kind of cloth or hood over the hanging victim's face, but I do not know if they do that in real life or not.

Awwwwwww! I, too, picked the wrong week not to check up on what's going on here... Shucks! The story is so ridiculously funny! And the fact that I've had to take cold medicine for the past few days and am currently on the verge of zonking out, makes it all the more hilarious! Well done, guys! πŸ˜† 😊

Loonies! OMG I picked the wrong week to have work done on the living room in my home πŸ˜†. What a story, what a story! I love it, I'm sorry I missed it and you guys kill me. Seriously! I was sitting here reading your story (not the original one LOL), laughing, tears running down my face, glad my kids aren't home and no one can hear or see me, holding my ribs because I'm laughing so hard!

Priceless!

It's a shame you can't read the comments it is actually a great ending to the original story lol. πŸ˜†

Chuck Norris does not breathe. He holds air hostage.

Chuck Norris is an American movie and TV star. He's best know for his mastery of the martial arts. Very famous.

Well, I don't know if you've noticed or not, but the above story sort of stopped in mid sentence. Everyone kept waiting for the author to come and say something or finish it and that never happened. So someone suggested we go ahead and try to finish it ourselves, and this is what happened.

I skipped back into the kitchen and grabbed a box of brownie mix, only to realize that I had forgotten Pamiga again.
