My Family's Encounters

Sometime last year, not entirely sure which month, every single one of us (mainly myself) has been experiencing some ghostly encounters. The ones that never seemed to be bothered with was my step-brother (Craig) and step-dad.

But anyway, before I begin explaining what has happened to my family, I want you all to know that on paint, I have decided to draw a diagram of how my house is positioned as. The names of my siblings are false- hence the quotations- for privacy reasons.

And I must add, the living room, kitchen and dining room are all connected. No doors (only walls and a counter) separates them- so it's really an open area.

Now, I will begin the encounters my family has experienced. I will start off with my mom.

Sometime during the night, everyone was sound asleep, except for my mom. She was awake and decided to go to the kitchen. Once she exited the master bedroom, she made her way down the hall and stopped right in front of the laundry room, confusion settling on her face. Just a few seconds before, she had noticed a dark figure walk right past the hallway (from the stairway to the front door). Thinking it was Nancy (my step-sister), she shrugged it off and decided to head back to her room, but something stopped her.

'But how can that be Nancy?' she had thought. 'If it was her, wouldn't I hear footsteps? And why would she leave the house this late?'

Now shaken up, she rushed back to her room and told herself that it was probably nothing- maybe just her imagination.

Next is my little brother's encounter (Frank).

When my mom took both Nancy and myself to a school's football game, she told Frank to watch my baby sister (we will call her Jenny). A few seconds after we had left, he situated himself on the living room couch (the back was to the wall of the stairway) and Jenny was seated next to him. Then, a few minutes passed by and he noticed something move from the corner of his eye.

As he turned to gaze over at the dining room, his eyes widened at the sight of a shadow dashing across the window blinds and along the wall that neared the entrance of the kitchen. Soon after, it disappeared.

At first, when I heard his encounter, I couldn't help but think: 'Is this the same spirit that my mom had saw? More importantly, is it a male spirit? Or female?' But soon forgot all about my own questions as days went on.

Finally, my step-sister's encounter.

Nancy was in her bedroom at the time when she felt a spirit touch her. Laying sprawled in her bed, her eyes sealed shut as she beckoned sleep to take over her, but for some odd reason, she couldn't. Somewhere in the back of her mind, she knew something wasn't right.

Then, she felt a hand press itself against her thigh.

Startled, she jerked up into a sitting position and glanced around her room, wondering what had just happened. Knowing this was her very first physical encounter with a spirit, she couldn't help but fear what was going to happen next.

Another encounter she had faced happened right outside my bedroom window. Apparently, sometime at two to three o'clock in the morning, she heard a knock right at my window and quickly asked me the next day if I had heard it. Being awake until five, I gave her a puzzled look and said, "No." She seemed truly afraid now that she knew I hadn't heard a thing, but she has.

Ever since then, I have been wondering why the spirit (or whatever it was) knocked on my window but not hers? And how come they made sure she heard it but not me?

Anyway, I am finished for now. There are far more encounters my family had experienced, but I decided to save those for later since I have written enough already. Plus, in my next post, I will tell you all my own encounters.

Oh, and I must not forget! My step-dad had mentioned before that he once heard the faucet going off in the master bathroom. When he slid out of bed and tried to pry the door open, it wouldn't budge. Soon after, the sound of running water stopped at the door flew open. Every thing in the bathroom was fine and the sink didn't have a drop of water any where.

Of course, I'm getting a feeling he was lying and just mocking everyone because he's the kind of person that is a HUGE skeptic towards the supernatural realm- which is why I placed him on the list of 'not being bothered by spirits'.

shadow_witch, I just thought it would've given you a better view of where the sightings occurred and where my family were seated, but I suppose not.

Ok...Um, cool story, but I'm not really sure why you included the layout of the house? 😕 Did I miss something here?
