Mother's Final Goodbye?

This all started when I was 10-yearsold. We had just had a power outage, so the only electrical thing we had were some flashlights so we could see. My father suddenly yelled for me to come into the room. It was pitch black. "Hayleigh, this flashlight just flickered on and off by itself!" At first I was a little skeptical. I thought it had a battery shortage or something, but I was proven wrong. The flashlight flickered on. The flashlight wasn't the kind with a switch. You had to turn the top to turn it on. When it first turned on it was a little dim, but later it started shining so bright that I could barely look at it without squinting my eyes.

My father has always had an interest in the paranormal but I was never really interested until then. My father had a hunch that it could be a ghost or spirit, so he went on Ebay and bought some equipment: a night-vision camera, a recorder and a EMF Detector. When he got all of his things, he asked me and my brother if we wanted to go ghost hunting. We both looked at it as an adventure! But soon we realized that this was no little game.

The first place we went was in my room. My father placed the tape recorder on my desk and asked some questions. Once we were done, he played back the tape. What he found was disturbing. The question was, "What do want? Why are you here?" It replied, "Hayleigh" in a faint female voice. After our first finding, my father became very interested in finding out what, or who, it was. Every weekend we would go into the attic to ghost hunt. He took a few pictures, and what he found shocked us all. He took a picture of me sitting against the wall and beside me was the outline of a person. It was foggish, like a mist.

When he showed me the picture, I became very frightened. I started to become very scared of being in the house. I started having unexplained things happen to me. One day I was on my laptop writing an essay for my class. I left my laptop on my desk so I could get me something to drink. When I got ready to leave the room I heard pecking, so I turned back and went to my laptop and on the screen was a message. It was written exactly like this:

I am sorry 4 everything hayleigh I luv you

The next thing was when we went ghost hunting again. My father was going to use the recorder, except this time he wanted me to ask the questions. I asked:

"Why are you doing this? Who are you?"

The response was unbelievable.

"Mom."

I asked my adoptive parents about this. They both told me that my biological mother had passed away from a drug overdose. After hearing the news, I went to my room. If this was really my mother, then I wanted to talk to her. I began talking to mid-air. "If you're my mother, then show yourself!" The second I said it, a woman's face appeared and then vanished, but the image was still clear in my mind. The feeling of warmth and love surrounded me after the experience. I knew it was her, "I love you, too." I spoke into mid-air. The feeling went away and I knew I was by myself once more. I didn't have anymore experiences after that.

Right now I'm 13, 3 years after the experience. And I still believe it was my biological mom's final goodbye before she crossed over. RIP Sheila Marie Lykins 1979-2009

First of all, sorry for your loss. It's never easy to lose someone who brought you in to this world. Like the other posters said, this was her way of saying goodbye and finding closure. Just be happy that she was able to connect with you.

Second, many of the other posters had asked the same thing, can you please post the pictures and evps? Thanks you.

You know why god created mothers?
Because he could not take care of everyone in the world.

Heart touching,
I pray for your mom.

"mom died"

Its horrible thing in life to hear. If she is nowhere we could have never born.

SALUTE MOTHERS.

This is a very sad, but also sweet experience. I think your mother needed to connect with you in order to be at peace. Telling her you love her gave her the closure she needed. You have a good heart, and I believe your mother is watching over you with love.
