Haunted Objects

One night I woke up as my mom was in the bathroom taking a shower. I don't know which woke me up: her taking the shower or this but I woke up to the sound of several Mexican men talking excitedly. They were laughing and seemed to be joking about something in a mix of Spanish/English and all of a sudden one of them started going, 'Shhhhhhh' and they started quieting down while laughing and then just completely shut up. I was deathly frightened because I thought they were a gang of robbers that had broken into the house or something. After several minutes I got the courage to walk across the room and turn on the light. When I did I saw that nobody was there. The only people up were me and my mom and she was in the shower. The TV wasn't even on. It was obviously some sort of ghosts and A LOT of them at that. This story comes with a question:

Okay, so I live in South, GA. Now, I know that Indians used to be everywhere in GA and though I don't really think the ghosts I heard were Indian that still is a possibility because they themselves speak their own language different from that of English and Spanish. If the case is like I think it is, that means the men were Mexican. I tend to buy a lot of items from flea-markets and EBay when I can so I think MAYBE the Mexican ghosts are attached to an object in my room although I have only heard them that ONE time.

My question is:

How can you tell if an object is haunted without an EVP recorder? I have a feeling the only way you can is with one but I just wanted to make sure because it's going to be hard to get my parents to get me one without them nagging me about what a waste of money it is (even though it's not). If anyone knows a way I can tell without an EVP recorder or just wants to give their input, please comment.

I wouldn't worry about it too much if it only happened one time. I have had some haunted items before, and usually if they are haunted you will get some sort of activity the first night you have them. Did you purchase any used objects within that time frame? It could've also been some spirits passing through not even object related, maybe they were attracted to all of the things you have from Mexico and South American culture and not a specific object. The most haunted objects I have come across were dolls, but anything can get a spirit attached to it.

Laptop computer works wonders, that is what I use. I am a beginning investigator, but I have seen and heard paranormal things my whole life and looked into it.

If they spirits are bothering you, ask them to go away or to stop. Try doing that in both spanish and english, so they can understand you if they are hispanic. Good luck! 😉

What Pjod said.

However. May I suggest instead of purchasing an EVP meter- you simply try instead making some ghost gadget meters?

Simply google online and search for various kits that you can make.

1) You'll be able to detect something (hopefully).
2) You'll know the quality of the manufacturing.
3) Street Cred in the Ghostie business.
4) You'll be able to convince one of the parents that it's for a good cause- You're learning electronics/soldering. Either of which can be a good trade to know in the future.
5) Most EMF meters are used for other- more mundane pursuits.

For example-

LOL, Pjod. I have a digital recorder actually, which I used to get a few recordings earlier. Unfortunately I'm afraid it has "magically" disappeared0. O
I THINK my spirit friend may be hiding it at the moment though. Hopefully it will decide to give it back soon.

I agree. Any tape recorder will do, and especially a digital tape recorder. If you do not have a digital one, and just an analog will suffice, but you will need to add some white noise of your own. Tuning a radio station or television station to static will usually do the trick and then try your recordings again!

It is very possible that you might have picked up something from a flea-market or ebay that has a spirit attached to it. You can try to pin point when the activity started and what items you purchased during that time. If you want to try and capture an EVP any voice recorder will do. A hand held video camera can also be used to capture EVP's. Good Luck 😊

I think you can use any type of recorder in this case. Don't waste your money on something that is costly because it has an EVP label attached to it, but really is just an ordinary recording device.
