Boy Aswang In Davao

This is my second personal encounter with (in the absence of appropriate description) supposedly "aswangs". It happened three years after my first experience in 2003. The new house I was then living in was a duplex and the other unit is occupied by the farm manager of our sister company.

His wife is around five months pregnant. I am diabetic and common to diabetics, I usually wake up in the middle of the night to pee and drink water.

On this particular night in 2006, I woke up as usual with an urge to pee and after doing so I went to the kitchen to drink some water. As I was drinking I saw from my kitchen window, which is across their bedroom window, a figure of a small boy of around 10years old hanging on their window grills as if trying to peep through the slanted jalousies. The boy was naked and his skin charcoal black. I quietly got my mobile phone and texted the husband. As his mobile phone rang, I saw the image fly faster than I could imagine towards the dark portion of the backyard.

The following morning, I went to my neighbor's unit and told them everything. I learned that the wife slept near the window that night for she was feeling so warm and opened the windows to a slanting position. I suggested to them to put the traditional "kontra" against aswang on their windows. There was nothing wrong if we just followed tradition rather than be sorry about it.

The next months until the wife gave birth, the husband was always vigilant at night: leaving the lights on, placed salt and garlic on the windowsill and a jungle knife beside the bed. The baby girl was born without incident and after the baptismal they transferred to a new house.

Might have been a Tik-Tik (a kind of "aswang" or ghoul that feeds on unborn fetuses) in a child form... Don't worry those kinds are cowardly... Just open the lights and play some music... They will be threatened by it and go away...

AGAIN... Are you sure this happened in Davao city? Because you might give them false information and it might ruin Davao city for this article. Davao is a vast city. FYI, there's "Davao del sur and Davao del norte" these are provinces. Could you be more specific? If it's in Davao city? Because there are no "manananggal" or other hideous creatures here in Davao except for white lady and other silhouette figures. Davao city is not a remote city. BE SPECIFIC NEXT TIME... THERE'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN DAVAO CITY AND DAVAO CITY PROVINCES SUCH AS: DAVAO DEL SUR AND DAVAO DEL NORTE... BEFORE YOU POST PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT THE INFORMATION YOU ARE SHARING IS CORRECT. A LOT OF PEOPLE THINK THAT DAVAO IS (BUKID) WHICH IS NOT! DAVAO CITY IS MUCH MORE BEAUTIFUL THAN THE CITIES IN LUZON AND VISAYAS

OMG!"Aswang" were really true! Because when I was pregnant to my 2nd child, I used to sleep alone in our bedroom (my hubby is working in Saudi, that's why) with our window widely open and my dress up, displaying my tummy because I feel uncomfortable...fortunately, nothing bad happen to me and to my baby during those days. You're story remind me to be always careful specially to that kind of creatures.

Wow, I have encountered a lot of ghosts and spirits but not aswangs. I wish I could be give a chance to encounter them... On second thought, I'd rather hear their stories than to see them face to face aha.

Wew... Very scary story. Lucky for you, that boy didn't see you... Anyway, what you did is right. You texted the husband of the wife which can be victimized by the so-called "Aswang". Just pray for your protection and for the protection of the people around you. And I just want to ask if you already saw "aswangs" with wings? And I know it's the manananggal who has wings. Anyway, Thanks and God bless!:) 😊

yup! I believe in aswang because I myself encountered a live one since I was in grade 3 or rather 5 years old I didn't know if my third eye is open... I think I was bitten and suck a little of my blood. And in quezon particularly in san andres quezon province it's like a human bat.

My dad actually has a similar story ok here it is... (this was before I was born) so like they moved into like this carle place apartment and like they diden't know it was haunted and like the neighbors do would stare at the window and like they would have money on one side of the table and the next day it would be on the other side so every night they wondered why my brother was peeing in his bed every night and hes like the little boy won't let me leave (im guessing like the ghost wasn't allowed to leave his room a night so like if he did I guess he would get yelled at or beat up?) so like one day my dad was getting ready for band practice and he was lieing in his bed and he sees a little boy crawling around his bed and he goes in the other room and says Kevin you know your not allowed in my room when I'm sleeping and my mom was like he wasn't in there he was in here the whole time (so my dad go a little nervous) so he called the realastate people and he said is this house haunted cause I thought I just saw a little ghost boy and they are like we never had a complaint like that before so they said we will call you back to let you know and they called back and said there was a little boy who got killed there when he was about 7 (and he got all nervous again) and said can you look for a new house for me? And that's all they told me

So any further questions mailbox me thanks

pregnant women are indeed prone to aswang here in the philippines more likely in rural areas. Thanks for sharing stories like this one. It really scared the hell out of me. 😨

Dear Warrior,

I have read both of your stories, so this comment is for both of them. First of all the spirit world has been around much longer then the physical world. I also believe that it will be around a lot longer then the physical world. It sounds like you are a Christian. If you are a Christian you should be comforted to know that the Holy Spirit lives in you and he will fight the demonic forces that try to mess with you. You should put on the armor of God according to Ephesians 6:10-18. The armor does a good job of protecting. I am worried about your diabetes. I am a type 1 diabetic and usually I don't have the problem of thirst or having to urinate a lot until my sugar is at least 400. Are you taking any medicine at night? Maybe you should see your doctor. Then again your body is probably a lot different then my body maybe I can tolerate higher sugar levels then you. Well have a good day and take care of yourself. 😁

Just to explain... As far as I know, an Aswang is a type of supernatural being that feeds on fetus and newborn babies. Aswangs are highly drawn to pregnant women and of course, newborns. These creatures are from Philippines legend.

Explaining what I mean by "lost spirit" is a spirit that does not know where it is, at all. It is confused, and feels scared. Demons are not spirits, they never lived so they could have never died or lost their bodies.
Demons are demons, they are much different and much more evil than spirits. They know where they belong, and they don't wish to return there. A demon is not a ghost, a ghost is the engery from a person dying that has stayed behind, if they never died they have no energy to have left over.

agimat_warrior - Can you please explain what you mean when you use the word "aswang"

Hope4ever - also please explain what a "lost spirit" is. My understanding is that even demons are spirit beings that have lost their physical bodies from death, though they were not human and are not what many people call "ghosts". They have no place to go so might also be termed "lost", though may well know where they are. But that is why I ask you to explain.

Oh, I wasn't taking offense or trying to be offensive! Just stating, from reading this author's other story (and only because I learned what aswangs were from this site) that I'm glad nothing bad happened!

Passive isn't what I was meaning to be, but it is very common for pregnant woman to draw spirits and such to them. But the story states that it moved fast, which is not uncommon, spirits are known to travel fast, very fast at times. I know what a aswang is, but it simply sounds like a lost spirit to me. Who knows, I don't know everything 😜

I do not think most People know what aswangs are so don't take offense to people like hope4ever thinking of it as a passive paranormal event which like she says are common among pregnant women. Aswangs are not known world wide they seem to be very localized. I think it is very interesting that all around the world there seem to be different types of ghost and spirit. One of the things I like about this site is there are a lot of people from all over the world posting their stories. Thanks for posting yours I'm always extra interested in foreign "lore" for lack of a better word.

I disagree... After hearing what happened in the other aswang story you posted, I would have kept all precautions up too. It's a good thing the father was so diligent at taking care of his family, so that nothing bad happened.

I don't believe the boy ment any harm, he was just observing. I think he lost his mother at a young age, and he could tell that she was pregnant and felt the pull towards her because of such. Also it is not uncommon for pregnant woman to have paranormal experiences, it is very common. But better safe then sorry is the best way to go. Glad the baby was born without a problem! 😁
