I Need Help with my Haunted House

I have owned a 130 year old home for the last five years now and I am moving. My ghost has been terrible. Before I moved in, my house was vacant for two years. Upon looking at my house to buy, I could smell matches that were just struck but no one was there. When I first moved in, he used to ring the doorbell at 3 am every night for a whole summer. Some random things would happen during summer nights where it would come in my room and walk around or watch me for hours, until I sat up with the lights on, scared to death. I have smelled him, old and sweaty and dirty... An old man.

Just recently, since we have sold our home, things have started happening after a long calm. Every night between 12 and 1am I am woken up out of a deep sleep by someone walking down the hall and coming into my room, watching me. Or I am woken up by it breathing in my ear. I asked my husband to switch sides of the bed with me, who, by the way, never hears anything. The night that I switched sides of the bed, I was woken up by something in my ear. I go to ER and they cannot find it, but fill my ear with Lidocaine. I go to a specialist who sees that my ear has been bitten severely inside and gives me drops to treat. By the way, this happened at 12:45 am.

The next night my baby wakes up screaming at 1am. He screams for two hours, on and off when I try to leave him alone. This has continued for almost 2 months. My husband works night shift... We are alone. I have asked it to leave and it does not. Please help. I don't want any harm to come to us. We move in a month. I hope it does not follow.

Help!

my house is haunted I have seen 3 ghosts in this house and the 4th one was at my boyfriends old house and the 5th one was the first girl who only I could hear. I keep seeing weird shadows as well. Most houses are haunted the ghosts who I see don't hurt me. They come from my dreams they are my friends and they know me in the dreams then a week or so later I see them in real life as ghosts. They are waiting in that other world for me. They are trying to tell me something because they visit after the dream. One of them smiled. The girl who I heard she was talking too fast and silent. 😐

violet, look, I lived it for years and years. I know what's up and these things ain't no ghost, no such thing. Dear violet,

Ummm, not to sound redundant, but I did recommend the following, as I will do again:
Since you have but less than one month left in your present house, you might want to pack your bags and stay with family or friends. A motel, hotel or rental unit for a month might also be another alternative and help the present situation. When it comes to the safety of self and family, there should be no excuses and money should not be an object. --Abby

All that I say and do, nothing is changing! I am getting ticked. I have no choice but to stay elsewhere when my husband is not home. Last night it allowed me to only sleep 2hrs. Everytime I tried to sleep it woke me up with loud sounds. I prayed and told it to leave me sleep. Nothing is working! I feel frustrated and this is getting ridiculous. I should have the power here, not something like this! 😠

I just wanted to let you all know that I have spent a night away from my home with my family and we all slept soundly for the entire night. It was very much needed. I will be taking Shane's advice and smuding the entire house and all of my family. If this does not help we have no choice but to stay out of the house. I didn't realize until last night how precious peace and sleep were to us. I will keep you all posted. Thanks again for all comments.

Dear violet,

You are welcome for the offering of suggestions, help and advice. Well, of course things are going to be just fine, and you already have had things quite under control before, as I had already sensed you had and deep down, you already knew that all would work out. And how marvelous, because now you do not need to go to a Holiday Inn either. Thank goodness. Thank goodness for lapis lazuli and turquoise. I have always been a fan of stones, especially precious and semi-precious. Well, as Marilyn Monroe sang, "Diamonds are a girls best friend". I still like quartz though, it is so clear and always true. Blessings--Abby

Violet, I hope that any of these suggestions help you in your last few weeks there at the home. I wanted to ask if you can answer since the home is very well pretty old do you know any of it's history? Who ever lived there. I figure in the years you have been there you may have come across something.
I grew up in a pretty religous family and still hold true to my catholic faith as a young girl and even to date my mother always told me when you fear something whether it be a dream, or a unexplained experience you must show no fear as some of the other posts indicate. I know "personally" how hard that is. I do not know your where your faith lies but always as for me and my children I would tell them the same. For a long while I suffered with horrible nightmares my mom told me to do as she always did growing up and I didn't even think about it until she reminded me about my hail marys and holy marys. Recite three holy marys ans the hail marys this has always proven to me to work and I always pray them before bed the nightmares just stopped. I know it sounds weird to some but when you are in the face of this entity what can it hurt to try. In my experience this always helps. It is as if they just dissapear, prayer at this point aloud is the best thing and maybe for the safety of the family leaving somewhere else may be best for the time being. That will also allow you to experience quiet time and possibly allowing you security in feeling that this thing was left behind. You will know when you leave if it was just that home. In most cases these things only usually will pick one certain person or persons to continually bother they feed off your fears. You need to be aggresive and make a stand that this will not be tollerated this anylonger, that being said you are leaving soon. Get your things ready move them out little at a time so when the day comes there is not much to do. Take care Violet I wish you luck and really believe that you will be fine once you are out of that home.
I have alwasy said with anywhere I move whether it be a home or apartment since I rent all the time. If a home is old I won't even give it the time of day not that, something like that even matters but it does usually play a big roll due to it's history, weird as it is I always ask about who lived here before me and go from there. I can usually feel if soemthing is up somewhere as soon as I walk in, If you don't have a good feeling initially listen to your gut.
Take care
M

I appreciate everyone's comments. I do want to say in reference to Abby's comments: the day I went to look at the house I went with my dad and as we walked up to the third floor we smelled the matches. I geeked out a little bit, but my dad said "nothing here will bother you". I put my faith in that. I was not aware of what the smell of matches meant! And for staying there for five years, well... It has not elevated to a level until the house was sold. In my opinion, I think that this presence became comfortable with us living here and now it is not really liking the idea of change. Last night my husband was home and we burned incense throughout the house, sprinkled lavender around the hall and our rooms and I prayed over my child. My husband literally was awake all night because of working night shift schedule. I slept for a few hours. The presence walked down the hall at 12:48 and stopped at our bedroom door... Of course it woke me up but my husband heard nothing. I prayed and told my husband I loved him and that was the end of that. Hopefully the rest of my nights there go as calmly. I still didn't sleep well because after I am woken up like that I have a hard time sleeping again. I also wore lapis and turquoise. I think that the lapis is for protection and the turquoise to keep clarity of mind. I am open to all suggestions. Thank you all again.

Dear violet,

I agree with Shane and evilblackwidow9 in regards to advice and suggestions to help you with this resident, pesky ghost.

What I do not understand is why after five years did it take you this long to ask for help and to finally decide to move. Yes, I can perhaps understand a few months, but five years escalating to these final experiences to get you to take responsibility and action. That is a long time in my opinion and shows lack of respect for self and your loved ones, as well as lack of respect to your own intuition and common sense. Hopefully this five year lesson will leave you wiser and also allow you to trust your own gut instinct. A red flag is a red flag. I would say the smell of matches was your first red flag.

I would suggest you look at your own life and see what is going on within it that may be a source of this increased haunting or loss of energy that is now drawn off by this ghost. Of course, the ghost knows you are moving, but I don't think it has liked your family's presence there from the very beginning.

Since you have but less than one month left in your present house, you might want to pack your bags and stay with family or friends. A motel, hotel or rental unit for a month might also be another alternative and help the present situation. When it comes to the safety of self and family, there should be no excuses and money should not be an object.

I would suggest you leave any material item attached to that dwelling and not pack it up and take it with you when you go or move to your next place of residence. If you do have used items or antiques, the problem may not have anything to do with the house or the ghost, but the item you brought into your space may have an attached ghost or spirit. Be sure to bless the house when you leave and bless the new house or dwelling you move into. Have your items blessed or bless them yourself with salt, throw some over the items. Table salt, sea salt and someone said kosher salt most likely making fun, but I don't rule kosher salt out either. Well, if used with great intention, all will work.

Please listen to your gut and feelings and notice all red flags when you are choosing your next place of residence.

As for the the questionable bite, whether it is from the ghost or unrelated, in my opinion if you feel fear of being physically violated in anyway, it is more than time to change one's life and to change one's residence. Blessings,--Abby

Dear Violet,

You my dear are involved with a lower level entity. Not a very powerful one from the sounds of it. Since you are moving I make this suggestion to you. I would have your entire family and your belonging smudged in a Native American Smudging ceremony. A complete ceremony not just the sage. I would also do the same for your new home before moving in. I have directions for this ceremony on this site in the articles section.

The spider/bug bite in the ear may not even be related to the haunting dear one. One other piece of advice I can give you is to try and get a handle on your fear. Entities require energy in order to manifest themselves to the living. Fear is one of the biggest energy boost they can get. If you can learn to control that fear you can remove a lot of their power.

To make your home more livable for the next month I would suggest lavander or jasmine incense being burned through out the home and as EBW9 stated salt around your bed and your babies crib.

Martin thanks my friend for bring my attention to this one.

Peace, Love, and Luck be with you.

Oh no, monica5 does have a point. What I would do is just keep praying and talk to your husband about it. Try to keep in a positive mood and read some bible stories to your baby if it either means out of the picture bible or a couple of verses out of the normal one. (If your religion has one.) Just do anything you can!

My suggestion to you is place a ring of salt around your bed and your child's crib. Burn lavendar in the room to calm the enviroment. What ever your religion is, ask your god/goddess for help to protect you and your loved one from spirit or eninty. If that doesn't work I have more suggestions.

Blessed be ye.

my Dear violet this is certainly serious. All I know is that when you smell the matches like sulfur they say that is because there is a demon near. I am not trying to scare you but that has always been a number one indicator of an evil presence. I would not leave my child alone at any time. I hope that you are planning to move. I wish you luck and hope this sale comes quick.
