Ah alright. I was starting to get curious cause I wasn't sure how long to wait for it to get posted, but I guess its just a "waiting game" of sorts. Ah well. It will be posted when its posted and if its posted.

By the way, is there a limit at how many stories you can post or is it limitless?

JC - there really isn't an average wait time for the stories. I've had one posted the same day I submitted it, which is really a rare occurrence. There was actually a time when it took a month for one of mine to be posted. It all depends, I believe, in how many stories are submitted and how many editors there are to review the stories for submission. Right now YGS is down one editor, so the wait might be a bit longer than normal. Whatever "normal" might be πŸ˜†

JustCurious - I'd give it a shot, but I'm a bit in the dark still. All I know for sure is we'd love to take a group tour to the Stanley Hotel, even though some of us (cough, cough) are freaking terrified of the movie The Shining and would probably run screaming down the corridors. We learned Lou actually had an encounter of the best kind while taking a break there, which led us to Sam Elliott's sexy voice πŸ˜†.

Along the way 510 found aussiedaz on facebook, Darkness and I realized we talk to ourselves... A lot! Lou is going to make Javelina some Swine Shus to fit her feet (got visions of Puumba in drag from Lion King running around in my head πŸ˜†).

Cosmo and Darkness still like that freakin Chuckie 😨 and Granny drinks coffee at all hours of the day and night! I'm sure I've missed a few highlights, but I tried my best.

Lou,
I guess I could lose the sundress for an attire more suited to the elements. Maybe a camo colored (for traveling as inconspicuous as possible), down filled bunny suit like they wear on the slopes. I do love the idea of the Swine Shu (the name has a ring to it though I can't think why), and of course any chance to field test a prototype I'm absolutely on board with. So, thanks to your ingenuity there may be hope for me yet.

PS Has it got a kick stand?

Javelina,
Now I know you reside in a retirement state, but when did the red hair turn blue? I'm working on a prototype that should help you out in the snow. Its called Swine Shu... Keeps you on top of the drifts even when the banks have got you down, no innoculation or credit score required.
Quantities are limited, so you only get one pair. But walking upright might be a good idea with regards to the sundress, and all.;)

Lou,
You're probably right, with all those negatives I wouldn't have a chance. I mean it would be a strange and terrible sight to come across a blue haired, cloven hooved, hog in a sundress. Just trying to run on these stumpy legs from the frightened citizenry might force me to have to use those tusks. Which is an unfriendly way to get to know the neighbors and tires me out just thinking of the trouble it would be, so yeah, I'll take a pass on it. Thanks for the advice.
Can't wait for the next chapter.

I'm not sure... And you short legged types tend to have trouble when your hooves sink in the snow.
Darkness,
Wish I had time to write about all of my experiences, but until somebody can pay me to do it I'll have to do it between work. Considering the frequency, I'm glad I did not have a haunted childhood. Just keeping track of the past 20 or so years would be hard enough.

Wow Lou, that was so awesome! Especially since you weren't even a guest at the hotel. To have experienced something in that short amount of time, is just fueling my fire to go. I really have to visit the Stanley soon.

Granny,
No problem... Almost makes me feel important (sniff, sniff)...:) I don't think I've ever had the time to max out my comments... But lofty goals are my motivation. I've been told that I have a face that looks like its been hit with a few books, but currently, no, I am the only American without a Facebook account... My e-mails wouldn't leave you swooning if you knew what I looked like.;)
Miracles,
Was visiting a former sister in law in the Denver area, and my ex and I scheduled a three day visit to Estes Park. Cool little town, I would recommend it to anyone who is into hilking/nature type stuff. We went to the Rocky Mtn National Forest late one morning and went hiking for a couple hours. My ex was having a little trouble with the heat and the altitude, so we called our hike short and headed back to town. We were driving past the Stanley and she suggested that we check it out and see if they serve lunch and cocktails. A big fan of both, I turned in and we went in. When we walked in the front, we immediately walked into the hubbub of a few dozen staff members who were scurrying around getting ready for some lunch function. A hostess type asked us if we needed help, and we asked her where the lounge was. She pointed and we walked in the direction she eluded to. We noticed that everyone who looked at us was giving us curious or surprised looks. We figured out what that was about when we sat at the bar. Apparently our hike was dustier than we realized. The wall behind the bar, and I mean, the whole wall, is one huge mirror. When we looked at it we realized that our faces were covered with dirt from the heat and dust, and that our sunglasses had protected us just enough to leave two white clean rings around our eyes. Not the type of guests the tuxedoed wait staff was preparing for, I would guess.
So, we ordered a drink, and had a pretty good laugh at our own expense. At one point, my ex said that she needed to use the rest room, the bartender pointed her in the right direction, and she walked out of the lounge, leaving me there alone. All though the lounge was empty, the staff was rushing back and forth in the hallway and entrance of the hotel... It was obvious that whatever they were preparing for was about to begin in one of the dining rooms.
Not wanting to face anyone who entered the lounge in my current state of grime, I watched everything that was going on behind me in the mirror. I looked up from my drink at one point and saw three or four couples enter the lounge from a side enterance on my right. The men were dressed in tuxedos and the women were in floor length evening gowns. They moved into the middle of the room and sat at a table probably about twenty feet directly behind me, they were whispering and talking quietly amongst themselves as they sat. From my barstool, I saw them enter and arrive at their table, but when they sat, the height of my perch and the tall bar blocked my view of them in the mirror. I casually craned my neck a bit to try to see them in the mirror, not wanting to be rude or divulge my currently, less than kemt condition and then went back to my cocktail. I was looking out the window towards the front enterance to the left of the mirrored wall, when my ex came back in and sat down.
I said to her, "Well, it looks like we better finish up and leave before we get completely surrounded."
She asked me what I meant, and I said, "Well it looks like they are going to be using this room."
She asked, "Oh, did the bartender tell you that?"
Kind of annoyed at her not realizing the obvious, I turned towards the mirror, not wanting to turn and point at the people behind me, and nodded "No they did."
...well, THEY, were gone. I turned around and there was no one sitting behind me, there was no one in the lounge. The bartender who had excused himself after asking us if we needed anything else right away, walked out of the side door the couples had entered through, wheeling a cart with a stack of linen for resetting tables piled on top. As he swung the door all the way flat to the wall to get it out of the way of the cart, I could see from my barstool that the doorway he came out of was a walk in storage area about ten feet deep with shelves on three sides, there was no other way into it other than the door he, and the couples had exited through.
From my seat, facing to the left, the couples would have had to stand up and walk across the room toward the front enterance of the hotel to exit the lounge, and there is no way I would not have seen them in the mirror.
We finished our drinks, walked out, drove to our inn and parked... And then we walked to a modern sportsbar for a few more, much needed beverages.:)

Good morning from the east coast! I see we were busy little beavers again last night. LOL! All this talk about drop bears, and Chucky, makes me wonder... Where in the world is Aussie? He's missing all the fun. I tell you after the Chucky vs. Mickey saga every time I see Child's play on tv I crack up. πŸ˜† πŸ˜†

Hey Lou, I was wondering if you had a facebook account too. The Stanley is on my list of places to visit too. I really do hope I get to go there one day. What was your experience there Lou?

Good morning,
Glad to see the night owls were at it again last night. Stanley Hotel... Been there, done that, and after the experience my ex and I had there, ruined the t-shirt.
It is located in Estes Park, Colorado right at the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Forest. The Shining, was actually filmed there. Absolutely beautiful area... Giant trees and mountains, elk and deer wandering around the outskirt of town.

Hahah Taz read this mate I have had it saved on my computer for a couple of years now so tell us what you think of our drop bears! Lol πŸ˜†

For those readers who may not be familiar with the Aussie dropbear menace, these terrifying creatures, a distant cousin to koalas but much larger (almost the size of an American grizzly) and with sharp claws and fangs, generally hide in trees during the day, sleeping on the upper branches out of sight. But in the evening and throughout the night, they hunt by waiting for an unsuspecting victim to walk under the tree - at which point they drop from the branch (hence the colloquial name "dropbear") and begin savaging their prey with claws and teeth in a frenzy of violence. Once the victim has been mauled to death, the dropbear will then eat its fill and move on to a new tree, leaving the corpse lying there like a sack of red rags. Usually dropbears attack smaller prey such as kangaroos and cattle, but they will also attack a full-grown human with no hesitation. Their size, and the fury of their attack means the chances of surviving a dropbear attack are similar to that of being dropped into a pool of twenty-foot killer sharks.
